How does Silver Dihydrogren Citrate work?

PURE Hard Surface contains the patented silver ion technology that makes SDC so potent and powerful. It has no odor or color in its disinfectant form, and can be used to protect hard surfaces in a variety of environments. SDC uses two methods of action to fight bacteria and microbes. First, it attacks the microorganism's membrane proteins, causing microbes to die. Second, it breaks down the DNA to prevent further replication and the spread of disease.

What makes PURE Hard Surface different than other silver based technologies?

Is the PURE technology the same as nanosilver?
No, PURE products are not nanosilver. PURE products utilize a completely different, patented technology that is not found in any other silver product. Using exponentially less amounts of silver to create exponentially more effective products than any other silver technology, PURE products have none of the environmental issues that are typically associated with nanosilver and other silver materials.

What is Colloidal Silver and how does SDC differ from Colloidal Silver?
Colloidal silver products contain small particles of silver suspended in aqueous solution. The main composition of
colloidal silver is metallic silver, but it may also contain silver oxide and other silver complexes. Silver colloids release minute quantities of ionic silver over time, predominantly through surface oxidation, and dissociation from silver complexes. Numerous complex and expensive processes have been developed to manufacture colloidal silver and result in large product variability. In comparison, PURE products contain fully active stabilized ionic silver, silver dihydrogen citrate (SDC), at a specific concentration of 30 parts per million - thousands of times higher than colloidal silver but with exponentially less total silver mass. The patented process developed to manufacture SDC provides stabilized ionic silver in aqueous citric acid solution. Is PURE effective in killing VRE & MRSA?

Yes. PURE kills the super bugs VRE and MRSA in only two minutes. Compare that to traditional products, which take at least 10 minutes to achieve similar results. Most typical disinfectants will evaporate within 10 minutes, reducing their efficacy.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE) and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA or Staph) are two of the most commonly spread antibiotic-resistant causes of community acquired infections. The CDC estimates that MRSA kills over 19,000 people annually just in the US.

PURE effectively fights VRA and two strains of MRSA: CA-MRSA (community-acquired MRSA) and PVL-MRSA (Panton – Valentine Leukocidin MRSA). PVL is a toxin that destroys white blood cells and can be fatal within 24 hours of reaching the lungs.

Does PURE kill Novoviruses Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus auerus (MRSA) and Influenza A (H1N1)?

Yes. This product is registered with the EPA as effective against H1N1 (Influenza A) and MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus auerus) under the chemical name AXEN 30.

What makes PURE a broad-spectrum germicide?

Unlike competitors' products, PURE is antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal. It keeps working to kill bacteria for up to 24 hours after initial surface contact. See label for complete details. It also kills a broad range of viruses and germs, including super bugs such as VRE or MRSA.

Why is PURE a better alternative to bleach and water?

Bleach is a highly toxic and potentially dangerous chemical. The user must take precautions to avoid inhaling bleach fumes when mixing the proper amounts of the product. This also requires a well ventilated area and some workplace guidelines may require special clothing or equipment for its handling.

Bleach also takes approximately 10 minutes to disinfect a surface (See Comparison Chart), which means the surface must be kept clear during this time. It has to stay wet to achieve its efficacy, and is supposed to be rinsed using water afterwards. After it dries it is no longer effective in killing bacteria.

However, PURE provides many advantages compared to bleach. It does not require mixing or dilution, and it does not require protective equipment or apparel.

What if I experience stickiness?
PURE® Hard Surface Disinfectant & Food Contact Surface Sanitizer
If after the use of PURE Hard Surface you experience stickiness on the tables, or other
surfaces, please follow these simple steps:
1. Wash surface with warm water and soap; or with PURE Multipurpose & Floor
Cleaner Concentrate diluted in warm water. This will remove the stickiness.
2. Dry the surface using clean cloth or paper towels, removing any previous residue
that has been softened by the warm water and/or cleaning solution.
3. You may then apply PURE Hard Surface.
4. Repeat only if stickiness reoccurs.

We have found that stickiness most often occurs when PURE Hard Surface is first
introduced into an environment replacing or being used in addition to other disinfectant
products. Sometimes, the citric acid in PURE Hard Surface will act as a solvent and “cut”
into a layer of built up residue that previous products have left on the surface. Continued
regular use of PURE Hard Surface will typically prevent formation of such a residue layer
unless something unusual happens, such as a food spill that is not completely cleaned up.

Is PURE also a cleaning product?

No. PURE was developed as a medical grade antimicrobial disinfectant. Products marketed as cleaning and disinfectants contain wetting agents or surfactants that can reduce the efficacy of their antibacterial functions. But PURE is a great deodorizer because it kills the bacteria that typically cause odors.
